Consumers 'Get" mHealth But Do Providers Care?

According to HIMSS Analytics, 80 percent of physicians are using mobile technology to provide patient care. Meanwhile, the Employee Benefit Research Institute tells us that more than 25 percent of commercially insured patients use mobile apps to manage their health. mHealth adoption is also being fueled by the 30 million wearable health devices that were shipped in 2012, a 37 percent increase over 2011. Keep in mind that the iPhone is less than seven years old and the modern tablet is less than three years old.
